About Svaroopa®Yoga
Are you looking for a style of yoga that promotes ease in body and mind? Svaroopa®Yoga (pronounced “swah-ROO-pah”) is an accessible style of yoga that is appropriate for all body types and levels of fitness. It is not a "workout" in the conventional sense, but it will work your muscles in ways that build strength, stamina and balance. It also increases flexibility, promotes deep relaxation and quiets the mind. Our focus is on the release of the deepest tensions in the human body. In a safe, supportive environment, precise alignments and liberal propping lead to spontaneous experiences of svaroopa, the bliss of your own being.

How do I know if it is right for me?
You probably won't know until you try it, but Svaroopa®Yoga is suitable for beginners, as well as those who have been practicing for many years in other styles, but are looking for a different approach. This style is very accessible and supportive and can be practiced by students who have a wide range of needs, including minor health challenges. If you have major health challenges or are pregnant, please contact Rebecca at 386-8461 or northernlightyoga@gmail.com to discuss your situation before enrolling in a class. Most of the time we can accommodate you, but a conversation in advance is helpful. We regret that we cannot serve individuals who have organ transplants, but we can work with those with joint replacements.
