Expansion and Transformation
Those of you that know me might know that I had a previous life as an invertebrate ecologist before I became a full-time yoga professional. One of my favorite memories from graduate school was learning about how caterpillars completely dissolve, enter a period of rest and reorganization, and then emerge as butterflies. The two images on this page have been guideposts for me during the pandemic. So many times in the last two years, we have dissolved what we were doing, paused, and then re-emerged as something different. We expect that process to be ongoing, particularly now that we are, once again, in a period of rapid emergence.
One thing is clear, and that is that when we took our first pause in March of 2020, we joined the rest of the world in beginning to create a new normal. While that process is still ongoing, some aspects of our business model will not return to what they were before. What we have put in place is a new system that is, hopefully, more flexible, resilient and stable, as we get to know one another again and reconfigure our yogic kula or community.
Here are highlights of some important changes we have made:
You live differently than you did two years ago. We all do. It will take us awhile to figure out which combination of classes, dates and times best serves you as a community. We would love to hear from you during these times so that we can offer what you have most missed.
We have made a lot of changes to our website and Punchpass system in a very short time. If you find a link that isn't working, or you are having trouble with an existing pass, please let Rebecca know as soon as possible. We are grateful to have the opportunity to fix things for you. We appreciate your help making sure that everything you see is clear, functional and effective.

Here are highlights of some important changes we have made:
- In addition to accepting cash and check as we always have, we now also accept Venmo (@blissnorth), PayPal (Trillium Ridge Ecological Enterprises), and credit cards via our Punchpass system.
- Beginning on March 17, 2022, pre-registration and pre-payment will be required for all classes via Punchpass system. Payments made by credit card (which is our preferred option) can be processed immediately through the Punchpass system, meaning that you can register for a class right away. Payments made in other formats will need a week processing time before a pass can be issued. Thank you in advance for learning the new system. We are happy to help if you need a little personalized guidance.
- We have moved to a pass system (as opposed to our session system) in which all our passes are good for classes regardless of format (remote or in-person), instructor (Samantha or Rebecca) or day/time. Any pass purchased prior to March 10, 2022 will expire on May 10, 2022. Questions? Contact Rebecca (315-386-8461 or northernlightyoga@gmail.com. For more information about passes and payment, visit our Passes and Payment link.
- After April 2, 2022, all passes will be punched for reservations not cancelled 24 hours in advance. If extenuating circumstances apply, contact your instructor.

Welcome to Northern Light Yoga!
Happy Body. Quiet Mind. You are joining us during a period of rapid change, which is both exciting and a little daunting. What is our new normal? What will be like it was, and what has changed forever? You might be asking yourself who you are now that emergence is the order of the day, or where you want your life to go from here. Fortunately, the ancient texts supply us with tools that apply to living life in any era, and navigating the inevitable hardships and pitfalls of human existence. This is an especially good time |

Namaste,
Rebecca
