Here is what some students are saying about their remote classes:

Anne, Canton, NY- "Thanks so much for the Zoom class yesterday.  It was even better than I expected; hearing your voice and instructions took me deeper than I can ever get in my home practice.  During the rotated stomach pose, when you suggested we bring our ears back, it was like a new 'adjustment' that I could feel down into my rib cage.  My whole back was flattened more as we began our second pass through the spine.  I often 'cheat' at home and don't hold poses as long as I should and replace the ending shavasana with my meditation.  While nothing can match the bliss of the studio, it was the next best thing."

Kathleen, Potsdam, NY- "I was skeptical at first, but I have come to really enjoy doing yoga at home [via Zoom]. It is convenient and feels much safer to me than in-person right now. I love taking more than one class per week, and if things were "normal", there is no way I would be able to do that. Thanks for this opportunity!"

Kathy, Bluffton, SC- "Loving my Zoom yoga. Thank you for another amazing class. I am learning so many new poses and it is reaching into my body in so many different ways. Now that I get to see you each week, it has made my heart happy."

Remote Classes
All of our remote classes are offered via the Zoom platform. The platform is easily downloadable to a compute or laptop and is free to use. Registration is available using our PunchPass system. Visit the link labeled, "Registering Via PunchPass" to get started. It will tell you how to set up an account, purchase your passes and reserve your space in classes.  If you run into obstacles, please contact Rebecca at northernlightyoga@gmail.com or 315-386-8461, and she will be glad to walk you through it.

Notes about Classes: To comply with Ashram safety protocols, no call-in options are available for Zoom classes and video must be enabled during class, except when Internet access is unstable.  The following props will be used in Standard Format Classes: enough blankets for a seated side stretch (or alternative as determined in a prior conversation or Getting Started class), blocks, a strap, along with access to a wall and folding chair (two is ideal). Students who do not have access to these props should contact Rebecca prior to the first class for assistance in brainstorming prop ideas.

Standard Format Classes

For those of you who have practiced with us before, a standard format class is what you areused to from Svaroopa® Yoga: an opening and closing shavasana with guided awareness, breathing practice, and sequences of poses designed to open your spine from the base up. These classes also integrate online therapeutics which substitute for hands-on adjustments and add new dimensions to the practice.

For those of you who are new to the practice, you are in for a treat. This style of practice is characterized by its emphasis on quieting the mind to release the deepest layers of tensions in the body. This profound inner immersion is accessible (and easily modifiable) for all body types, compassionate, non-competitive and enjoyable. At the same time, it improves balance, develops strength, increases stamina, and promotes ease in body and mind.  If you have concerns about getting started, please contact Rebecca (see contact info above) for a free consultation.

Currently, our classes are ongoing, and offered at the following times:
Sundays, 6:00 pm-7:30 pm
Mondays, 9:15 am-10:45 am
Tuesdays, 5:15 pm-6:45 pm

We are always interested in hearing from you about when you would like to practice. If you don't see something on the current schedule that works for you, be sure to let us know and we will keep that in mind for future planning. Our goal is to serve everyone who would like to practice with us with a workable schedule.
