
Remote Classes
All of our remote classes are offered via the Zoom platform. Our new PunchPass system is operational and you can now purchase a pass and schedule yourself for classes online with this resource. But you'll need to register with us to get started. Visit our Getting Started with Us link on the left hand toolbar, or contact Rebecca directly for more support. She can be reached at 315-386-8461 or by email at northernlightyoga@gmail.com. We do not share our email addresses with other people or send you marketing messages regularly. You can opt out of all notifications by just letting us know at any time. The only reason you need to have an account is to be able to access the system.
Notes about Classes: To comply with Ashram safety protocols, no call-in options are available for Zoom classes and video must be enabled during class, except when Internet access is unstable. The following props will be used in Yoga and Meditation and Standard Format Classes: enough blankets for a seated side stretch (or alternative as determined in a prior conversation or Getting Started class), blocks, a strap, along with access to a wall and folding chair (two is ideal). Students who do not have access to these props should contact their instructor prior to the first class for assistance in brainstorming prop ideas. For Yoga Nidra classes, access to a folding chair (or blanket set up) is all that is required, unless otherwise specified.

Yoga and MeditationThis class begins with a leisurely Shavasana, guided awareness and breathing practice, followed by a spinal opening sequence which includes abdominal activators and seated meditation. It ends with a standing closure. Note: there is no formal meditation instruction in this class and no closing Shavasana.

Yoga Nidra (Deep Relaxation)Yoga nidra means "yogic sleep". But unlike regular sleep, yoga nidra is an immersion into consciousness, giving it a lighter quality which is more restorative than regular sleep. Start your day with an immersion into your own inner essence. In this brief morning class, you will begin in shavasana with a guided awareness followed by a longer breathing practice. Close with a simple twist and be done in 30 minutes. Short, sweet and profoundly restorative. Cultivate surrender and improved immunity in these challenging times.

Standard Format Classes A “Standard” format class is what you are used to from Svaroopa®
Yoga: an opening and closing shavasana with guided awareness, breathing practice, and sequences of poses designed to open your spine from top to bottom. Beginning with this session, these classes will integrate new online therapeutics which substitute for hands-on adjustments and add new dimensions to the practice. The theme of these classes will vary by teacher.
