In-person classes are offered at the Northern Light Center at 595 Miner Street Road, Canton, NY. A reservation is required. We suggest arriving 10-15 minutes early when possible, so that we can help you get set up for our first activity.
We have all the props you will need for class (mats, blankets, blocks, straps, eye pillows, knee pads and chairs) at the studio. |
Remote classes are accessed via the Zoom platform, which is free for you to download. A link to your class will be sent to you the night before or earlier in the day of your class.

About Our Classes
Svaroopa® Yoga is a contemplative style of yoga that uses precise angles and liberal propping to release the deepest tensions in the human body and open up the inner dimensions of your being. This approach effortlessly builds strength, stamina, clarity, balance, and equanimity. It unlocks your own body's healing potential, and profoundly quiets the mind, leading to spontaneous experiences of svaroopa, or what the yogis call bliss.
Everyone is welcome in our body-friendly classes, but people who might especially benefit from this style are:
Each class, whether remote or in-person, follows our signature flow. We begin and end in a supported shavasana (yoga's relaxation pose) with a guided awareness to release deep tensions and quiet the mind and body. Then we explore a series of poses that open the spine from tail to top. Each series of 4-6 classes explores a theme which teaches you something about your body and how to work with it compassionately to promote ease and, when necessary, healing.
In-person classes include hands-on adjustments which deepen pose angles and release tension and pain. Please let your instructor know at the beginning of class if you would prefer not to have adjustments. Remote classes include special therapeutic variations, designed especially for online learning, which have forgiving angles and require very few props. They take the place of hands-on adjustments, giving you the delicious depth that is the hallmark of Svaroopa® Yoga.

- those who are used to pushing themselves hard in other areas of their life and need external support to relax
- those who don't consider themselves flexible or have aches and pains
- those seeking to quiet their busy mind to relieve stress and move through the world with greater ease
- those who have a meditation practice or are seeking something more than body-mind benefits from their yoga
